Wonderful Middle School Program
About the program:
Noah's adventures show children and teens how earth science actually supports the biblical record. These 30-minute programs show that the biblical record can be trusted and the idea of evolution cannot. This high-quality DVD series is professionally produced by a father and two young sons--truly inspiring. Use in any Christian education setting including churches, schools, and homes. Be sure to show your children's friends, too! Join Noah as he travels to Mt. St. Helens, in beautiful Washington State. He'll explore why the 1980 eruption which dumped 600 feet of landslide deposit into the valley below is considered "God's gift to Creationists". He discusses how evidence at Mt. St. Helens supports the global flood theory, and talks about evolution versus creation and why creation is the answer. It's a thrilling ride filled with facts and adventure!

Critique of the Awesome Science video:
Explore Mount St. Helens
The study guide to this video tells its readers: "It doesn't take millions of years to form canyons, stratified layers, and petrified forests. It can happen in only days, weeks and months, as we saw with the massive eruption of Mount St. Helens." This video very capably illustrates what a wonderful opportunity the eruption of Mount St. Helens was to scientists who wanted to observe first hand the forming of fossil fuels and the carving of canyons. Again, the evolutionary and creationist models were clearly contrasted.
Although the information is helpful, and probably best suited to high school students, the young home-schooled narrator, Noah Justice, tends to put off his audience. He talks constantly at such a high level of energy, emphasizing every word with no real break, that the audience feels it is being "shouted" at. He also seems a bit young and his manner tends to alienate the...
Great resource
Awesome Science is a series of dvds and study guides that take students on a field trip to places around the world. The series host is Noah Justice the 14 year old son of the director.
The dvd is really cute. Noah Justice takes kids on a tour of Mt.St.Helens and its history. It goes into the eruption in the 80's in wonderful detail. It takes geological and historical facts and shows how they relate to the bible. It is really a great learning tool. I watched it with my 5 yr old who loved it. She couldn't remember a lot afterwards, but it still kept her entertained and she did learn some new things.
They also have a study guide to go with the dvd that is awesome.
Overall, the dvd is a bit low quality, but highly educational and entertaining. The study guide is my favorite. It makes the dvd worth watching. I will use it as a unit study myself in our homeschool. I highly recommend you to check it out for yourself and all the other dvds in the series.
